Band Director's Friend
This series of mallets was conceived with the budget-constrained school band program in mind. The two models in the Band Director's Friend line includes a pair of timpani mallets and a pair of bass drum mallets designed to do it all using the following specs.
- Wood shafts
- 1/2" cherry for timpani mallets
- 3/4" oak for bass drum mallets
- Large cores
- 1.5" wood core for timpani mallets
- 3" wood core for bass drum mallets
- Innovative felt covering
- Both models use a dual sided wrap. The hard side uses a thin layer of soft wool covered with dense billiard felt. The soft side uses a thick layer of soft wool felt covered with minky polyester fabric.
- The synthetic coverings offer durability that outperforms traditional felt coverings. Once the outer layers do eventually wear out, they can be removed to reveal the felt under-layer and continue to be used without recovering.
